La Roux supports model who claims Kanye West choked her: “It was horrific”

La Roux has defended a model who alleges that Kanye West choked her on a music video set.

In November 2024, America’s Next Top Model finalist Jennifer An filed a sexual assault lawsuit against Ye under New York City’s Gender Motivated Violence Protection Act. The alleged incident took place in September 2010 at the video shoot of La Roux’s ‘In for the Kill’ remix, on which Kanye features.

According to Rolling Stone, An submitted new affidavits this week, including Instagram messages from La Roux. Recalling the incident, the singer said, “I could never forget that, it was horrific.”

She added, “I have never seen the footage (thankfully) and obviously I asked for it to never be used or for it to be seen as you were understandably very concerned about anyone or your family seeing it. I’m so sorry it happened.”

An accused Ye of “humiliating and degrading” her by calling her out on set, with the rapper allegedly saying, “Give me the Asian girl.”

With the camera rolling, the lawsuit claims Kanye “rammed several fingers down her throat, continuously moved them in and out, and gagged her to emulate forced oral sex, and screamed, ‘This is art. This is fucking art. I am like Picasso.’”

An alleges that the incident lasted for over a minute. In January 2026, Ye filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit, claiming his actions “occurred in the course of producing expressive” art.

After hitting back at the filing on March 10th, An’s legal team said, “We disagree with [West’s] contention that the alleged sexual assault of Ms An was protected artistic expression. Our filing sets out substantial corroborating evidence supporting the allegations, including contemporaneous communications and witness testimony.”

They added, “We believe the record makes clear that the claims have a substantial basis in law and fact and should proceed so that the evidence can be fully examined in court.”

Ultimately, the video for the ‘In for the Kill’ remix was never released. Kanye and La Roux later collaborated on ‘All of the Lights‘ from 2010’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.
