Ohio emcee Krayzie Bone has shared an update with fans about his well-being following a recent health scare that saw him hospitalised and rushed into the operating room for surgery.
The rapper (real name Anthony Henderson) took himself to hospital last month after he began to cough up blood, and doctors quickly found that an artery in his lung was bleeding out. The lyricist swiftly received surgery and was put on a ventilator.
Following the surgery, The Bone Thugs-N-Harmony rapper took to Instagram to let fans know that he was recovering but, more importantly, let them know that he was remaining positive. Henderson told his followers he “won the battle” after “fighting for his life” for almost a week and a half.
Elaborating further, the Thug Mentality musician wrote, Just fought for life literally for nine days straight, and I only won the battle this time because I know Jehovah God was with me every step of the way fighting for me.”
He continued, “Never take life for granted. Enjoy it while have you have it! Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. Trust me, I needed every last one of them.” The rapper’s photo saw him in a hospital bed wearing a gown and throwing up a peace symbol.
His crewmate, Layzie Bone, released a statement reading, “In this challenging moment, as the immediate and Bone thugs family rallies behind my brother, we humbly ask for a moment of privacy. Our family is facing the unexpected hospitalisation of Krayzie Bone with strength, and your prayers are a beacon of hope.”
Layzie Bone concluded, “Soon, we’ll share an update, but for now, let us come together and keep our love and thoughts focused on his recovery. Your support means the world to us, and we truly appreciate your understanding during this time.”
