Kevin Gates’ wife files for divorce after 10 years of marriage
Kevin Gates’ wife has filed for divorce after almost 10 years of marriage. The Louisiana rapper married Dreka in October 2015, with whom he shares two children, 12-year-old Islah and 11-year-old Khaza.
Dreka delivered her legal filing to the court on July 30th, listing July 10th as the date they separated.
According to TMZ, Dreka has cited “irreconcilable differences” and is seeking joint legal and physical custody.
Following the legal action, Kevin’s representative said the rapper has “unfortunately” declined to speak on the divorce filing.
The news comes just months after it was reported that Kevin and Brittany Renner had divorced after 52 days of marriage.
“We got married April 6th and divorced May 28th,” Renner told REAL 92.3 LA. “I don’t feel like it’s a sucky situation because what is meant to be is always going to be.
“I followed my heart, and that’s what more than most people can say, and I think when you do that, you get all the clarity you need, and there’s no stone left unturned, and there’s no regret. A lot of people, their issue is, even just in dating, in marriage, it’s people just don’t give it their all. They don’t just go for it.”
She added, “But I feel like when you do, you’re at peace with whatever happens because I gave 100%.”
In 2020, Kevin released a song called ‘Dreka’ to thank her for her loyalty after admitting to cheating on her with many women.
He raps in the first verse, “Drek, sit down, we need to talk, I’m ’bout to break your heart/ The burdens that been placed upon you, babe, that’s all my fault/ Cheatin’, multiple women, I can’t keep no account/ Takin’ care of multiple women out of separate accounts.”
