Kesha removes Diddy reference from ‘TiK ToK’ lyrics following rape lawsuit

Pop star Kesha has dropped the reference to Diddy from her lyrics to ‘Tik Tok’ after the rapper settled a rape lawsuit with his former partner. Kesha’s admission was noted after she performed an edited version of the song at a live show.

At her shows that have followed the lawsuit settlement, Kesha has altered the lyrics from, “Wake up in the morning feeling like P. Diddy” to “Wake up in the morning feeling just like me.” However, she has not presently commented on the matter beyond that.

Despite settling the lawsuit the day after it was filed by his ex-partner, the singer Cassie, Diddy’s lawyer, Ben Brafman, has stated: “Mr. Combs vehemently denies these offensive and outrageous allegations. For the past six months, Mr. Combs has been subjected to Ms. Ventura’s persistent demand of $30 million, under the threat of writing a damaging book about their relationship, which was unequivocally rejected as blatant blackmail.“

He continued: “Despite withdrawing her initial threat, Ms. Ventura has now resorted to filing a lawsuit riddled with baseless and outrageous lies, aiming to tarnish Mr. Combs’s reputation and seeking a payday.”

When the filing was settled with mutual satisfaction, Cassie publicly commented: “I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control. I want to thank my family, fans and lawyers for their unwavering support.”

Kesha herself has filed a sexual assault lawsuit in the past against the record producer Dr Luke. She initially filed the claim back in 2014, but it took until earlier this year for it to be settled a month prior to the case going to trial.

As of yet, Diddy himself has not publicly commented on the matter and has communicated his statements via his legal team.
