Kendrick Lamar confirms that this will be his final TDE album

The hype train has left the station as Kendrick Lamar confirms that his next record will be his final album for label TDE. It sees the rapper break his social media silence to share a new website for something he’s calling ‘Oklama’.

Whether ‘Oklama’ will end up being a new song or the title of his next record, one thing is for sure, this album will be his last with TDE, something that the head of the label says has his “full support”.

There’s isn’t much to take from the new website. A sparse interface including only a file that reads “nu thoughts” and leads to a written statement from the Compton rapper.

The rapper goes on to declare his new record will be coming soon and signs off the written statement as “oklama”, notably calling the LP his “final TDE album”.

“I spend most of my days with fleeting thoughts. Writing. Listening. And collecting old Beach cruisers. The morning rides keep me on a hill of silence,” begins the statement. “I go months without a phone. Love, loss, and grief have disturbed my comfort zone, but the glimmers of God speak through my music and family.

“While the world around me evolves, I reflect on what matters the most. The life in which my words will land next.”

“As I produce my final TDE album,” it reads, “I feel joy to have been a part of such a cultural imprint after 17 years. The Struggles. The Success. And most importantly, the Brotherhood. May the Most High continue to use Top Dawg as a vessel for candid creators. As I continue to pursue my life’s calling.

“There’s beauty in completion. And always faith in the unknown. Thank you for keeping me in your thoughts. I’ve prayed for you all. See you soon enough.”

Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith, CEO and founder of Top Dawg Entertainment, wrote in response to Kendrick’s statement: “With this being Dot’s last album on TDE, this is more of a VICTORY LAP, a celebration. I know he will be successful in whatever it is he decides to do and will have our FULL support.”
