Kelis’ husband Mike Mora has passed away aged 37.
Stever Satterwaite from Red Light Management has since confirmed his death. He told Entertainment Tonight: “Sadly, it’s true that Mike Mora has passed away. We would ask all to respect Kelis and her family’s privacy as of right now. Thank you.”
The singer got married to the photographer in 2014, and they share two children together. They have a one-year-old daughter and also a six-year-old son named Shepherd. He also recently shot the cover art for Kelis‘ first single in seven years, ‘Midnight Snacks’.
Evan Ross, who is Diana Ross’ son, paid tribute to Mora in a now-deleted post. “We lost a brother Yesterday. We will truly miss you Mike,” he wrote on Instagram. “Thinking of some of the great times we all spent together.”
Ross added: “Everything I saw you do. Was built in passion. I loved connecting again with you. Hearing about your children and the life you and your wife have built. Im sending all the prayers and love to your family brother. @kelis ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️RIP @mikemorafotos.”
In October, Mora revealed that he’d been diagnosed with stage four stomach cancer and said doctors had given him 18 months to live.
Kelis is yet to comment on Mora’s death.
