Fashion brand Balenciaga have ultimately decided that enough is enough as they part ways with Kanye West. For over a month now, West has been on a rampage, and it doesn’t look like it’s about to stop anytime soon. From Instagram posts to tweets, live streams and interviews across various platforms, West is burning bridges every moment he gets.
After a string of what has been labelled as racist and anti-semitic comments, the rapper is now partaking in interviews with right-wing news anchors, including the likes of Carlson Tucker, Chris Cuomo and most recently, Piers Morgan, even going as far to call Joe Biden “A f*cking r*tard!” on the latter’s show, Uncensored With Piers Morgan.
West’s partnership with Adidas is currently under review. However, after West’s shenanigans with GAP and now Balenciaga, it is more than likely that Adidas will soon choose to part ways with the rapper also.
Kering, the parent company to Balenciaga, has released a statement saying, “Balenciaga has no longer any relationship nor any plans for future projects related to this artist.” This comes after they had him walk in their Paris Fashion Week show only weeks ago. However, it is undeniable that the rapper is in self-destruct mode and is a liability.
Kanye’s, Yeezy GAP: Engineered by Balenciaga collection caused a lot of controversy, with Kanye telling his fans that the companies were both having meetings about the products behind his back and were excluding him purposefully.
West has decided to stage a coup it seems, as he is now buying the social media app Parler, in an attempt to bypass censorship and promote free speech. However, he has burnt so many bridges up to now it seems that it will be impossible for him to thrive in any market as he is losing connections left, right and centre.
