Kanye West compares Drake to R Kelly after Kendrick Lamar’s paedophilia claims

Kanye West has drawn comparisons between Drake and R Kelly following the Toronto rapper’s beef with Kendrick Lamar. K. Dot performed at Super Bowl LIX and didn’t hold back on targeting Drizzy by performing his ‘Not Like Us’ and ‘Euphoria’ diss tracks.

Following the performance, Ye took to social media to share his thoughts on the halftime show at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, on February 19th. He was full of praise for Kendrick, claiming it was the best show since the early 1990s.

“I really loved the show,” he said. “It was my favourite halftime show since the Michael Jackson era, which I kinda just barely remember, I just seen clips of it. It was super simple, the flag was fresh. When they did [‘HUMBLE’], the way that people’s heads were moving, I was shook. This is super fresh. The man’s voice control, all that.”

He added, “And you know, of course, they build up the controversy whether he’s gonna do [‘Not Like Us‘]. Then, at the end, I saw people saying, ‘This is the worst halftime show.’ And I’m just like, ‘Everybody I talked to in real life said this is the best halftime show.’”

Kanye went on to claim that society is in a constant cycle of putting up one black celebrity and bringing down another. On that note, he compared Drake to Kelly, who is currently serving a 31-year prison sentence after being hit with federal racketeering and sex trafficking charges involving the sexual abuse of minors.

“One black superstar is in jail, the next black superstar is on stage,” he said. “They take one rapper, then take another rapper down. Drake is almost like the new generation R Kelly. The way R Kelly had the radio on the smash and all that type of stuff, and then the idea that was put out in the Kendrick song, is what R Kelly is actually locked up for.”

He continued, “They give Kendrick everything; he wins everything. Then he does this amazing Super Bowl performance and right after, they say it’s the worst Super Bowl. And I’m like, ‘Yo, this is what I’ve been saying.’ They use black people against each other, and when they’re done with their agenda, they want to kick you out. That’s my perspective on it.”

Kendrick accuses Drake of being a paedophile on ‘Not Like Us’. He famously raps on the song, “Say, Drake, I hear you like ’em young/ You better not ever go to cell block one,” as well as, “Tryna strike a chord and it’s probably A minor.” He also raps, “Certified Lover Boy? Certified paedophiles,” referencing his 2021 album.
