Kanye West defends controversial ‘Eazy’ video

Kanye West has taken to Instagram to defend his video for ‘Eazy’, which features him kidnapping Pete Davidson and burying him alive.

The effort includes a scathing attack on the comedian, who is now dating Ye’s former partner, Kim Kardashian. During the track, West raps, “God saved me from that crash, Just so I can beat Pete Davidson’s ass.”

In the video, a claymate version of West is seen in his now-trademark leather jacket and black mask outfit while nonchalantly holding Davidson’s head, as well as footage that shows how he obtained it.

Later on in the visuals, West, along with two henchmen, kidnap the SNL star and proceed to bury him in soil while letting his head lay bare. The rapper then pours seeds which cause roses to grow from Davidson’s head which Ye then tidies up with gardening shears as his victim’s eyes turn white.

However, at the end of the video, a card reads: “Everyone lived happily ever after, except Skete you know who – JK he’s fine”.

Kanye has been heavily criticised for his actions, including The Suicide Squad director James Gunn. “For the record, Pete Davidson is one of the nicest, sweetest guys I know,” he tweeted. “A truly generous, tender, and funny spirit, he treats everyone around him with respect.”

Now, West has broken his silence and defended his decision in a new Instagram post. He posted: “Art is therapy just like this view. Art is protected as freedom of speech. Art inspires and simplifies the world. Art is not a proxy for any ill or ham. Any suggestion otherwise about my art is false and mal intended.”
