Kanye West criticises new Adidas slides for likeness to Yeezy's

Kanye West has criticised Adidas for their new slides which he believes resemble Yeezy’s.

Taking to Instagram, West wrote: “I’m not standing for this blatant copying no more. This is for everyone who wants to express themselves but feel they can’t cause they’ll [lose] their contract or be called crazy.”

The rapper also goes on to say they “represent the disrespect that people in power have to the talent” and called them a “a fake Yeezy”. Ye ended the caption by asking Adidas CEO Kasper Rørsted to “come talk to” him about the incident.

It seems West is discussing the new Adilette and his own Yeezy Slide line, which first arrived in 2019. They do have a similar design and also come in the same tone, although the Adilettes are the cheaper alternative at £45.

All of West’s shoes under the Yeezy umbrella are released in collaboration with Adidas. He was been in partnership with the sports brand since 2013 and their first collection dropped back in 2015. As part of his deal, West has full creative control.

Since making the allegation, West has since deleted his post on Instagram, although, this is common practice for the rapper. Adidas are yet to respond to Kanye’s claims, and thus far have remained silent.
