Kanye West charged with assault of wife's attacker

Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) is now investigating Kanye West for battery following an incident that saw the emcee attack a man who allegedly sexually assaulted his wife, Italian model Bianca Censori.

The Chicago rapper’s team have insisted that Ye was merely defending his wife after a man grabbed his partner in a sexual manner while she was walking down the street. However, Kanye’s response wasn’t simply a shove but is being considered a grievous case of battery.

West’s team have released a statement reading, “‘Grabbed’ is grossly inadequate as a description of what happened. Bianca was physically assaulted. The assailant didn’t merely collide into her. He put his hands under her dress, directly on her body. He grabbed her waist, he spun her around, and then he blew her kisses. She was battered and sexually assaulted.”

This is not the first time Kanye West has attacked a stranger on the streets of LA. In 2022, the Vultures pt 1 creator was investigated by law enforcement after he publicly beat a man who he claimed was taunting him. In an attempt to justify his actions, West told TMZ, “He just had this real attitude, like, ‘Whatchu gonna do?’ Imma just tell you, that blue Covid mask ain’t stop that knockout.”

Not much is known about Censori. However, Ye has been seen around the world with her, including in Milan earlier this year, and she appears half-naked on the cover of his collaborative album with Ty Dolla $ign, Vultures pt 1.

West, who changed his name to Ye in 2022, reportedly married Censori in December 2022, less than a month after his divorce from Kim Kardashian was finalised.

2022 saw the ‘Carnival’ rapper have a public manic episode, which led to him losing brand deals with Adidas and GAP as well as getting dropped from Def Jam. He also began socialising with far-right political extremists, including figures such as Nicck Fuentes and Alex Jones.
