Kanye West blacklisted as “Enemy of Ukraine”

Kanye West is caught up in yet more controversy as he has now been blacklisted and named an “enemy of Ukraine” for his recent trip to the Russian city of Moscow, the country with whom Ukraine is currently at war.

The rapper and entrepreneur took a trip to Moscow to celebrate the birthday of one of his Russian Yeezy fashion designers Gosha Rubchinsky. This visit has made West the most high-profile figure to visit Russia since the beginning of their war in 2022.

Due to his visit, Ukrainian officials have deemed him a threat to the country with  politician George Tuka insisting, the ‘Carnival’ lyricist and his entourage “have signs of crimes against the national security of Ukraine, peace, human security, and the international law.”

The full Ukrainian reasoning for blacklisting reads, “Propaganda of war. Visit to the capital of the occupiers during the invasion of the sovereign territory of Ukraine. The money spent by Ye in the so-called Moscow by taxes will be spent on the murder of civilians of Ukraine. Hidden support for aggression and murder of civilians of Ukraine.”

However, there are several other well-known people on the list including, boxing legend Roy Jones Jr, former Pink Floyd frontman Roger Waters and actor Steven Seagal. West hasn’t made much of a fuss about being blacklisted by Ukraine and doesn’t seem to care much.

His presence attracted fans and many gathered outside his hotel in central Moscow. He was also seen on the Moscow Metro during his trip as well as on a luxury boat. It has been rumoured his visit was for another reason also.

It was reported by some outlets that he was there as he was planning a concert in Russia. However, this hasn’t been confirmed by the rapper or any promotion. Kanye has previously called himself “Young Putin” and certainly has the elusive potency of the leader.
