Kanye West and Kim Kardashian finalise their divorce

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian have finalised the terms of their divorce after two year’s worth of tempestuous legal discussions. Conclusions were reportedly reached earlier this week.

The agreed filing was submitted yesterday and terms for child custody and property rights were reached. This comes shortly after the news that West failed to attend a meeting with Kardashian’s lawyer prior to the proceedings going to trial.

Owing to discussions regarding West’s current mental health, proceedings have been difficult. However, it has since been reported that the pair will joint legal and physical custody of their four children.

Also, with West’s wealth plummeting, reaching an agreement on child support was also difficult to determine. According to People, the finalised child support payment that West will be making is $200,000 (£167,000). While both parties agreed to slip their children’s current expenses costs.

Prenuptial agreements signed before their wedding in May 2014 have determined property division which waives spousal support. The same goes for any assets purchased during that time.

The divorce has resulted in many public spats between the pair, and many have wondered whether this explains West’s recent erratic behaviour after Donald Trump called the rapper “a seriously troubled man” after a recent dinner.
