Justin Bieber defends Frank Ocean amidst Coachella controversy

Justin Bieber has sprung to the defence of Frank Ocean following the singer’s controversial headline set at. Coachella festival.

For his first live performance in six years, Ocean appeared on stage an hour later than scheduled. He then proceeded to sing the bulk of the set sitting down with his back to the audience and huge headphones on.

Owing to the delayed start time, the set was also cut short when the enforced curfew approached. This meant that Ocean was unable to play many fan favourites while onstage.

This prompted a lot of anger from fans in attendance at the particularly expensive festival. However, Bieber has since sprung to the defence of Ocean commenting that he was “blown away.”

“His artistry is simply unmatched,” Bieber said. “His style, his taste, his voice, his attention to detail… I was deeply moved.” Unfortunately adding: “It made me want to keep going and get better as an artist.”

The upbeat Bieber then concluded: “He continues to set the bar high and gave me a night I will never forget! Thanks Frank.”

Despite this praise, there is speculation that Ocean might not fulfil his second scheduled performance at the festival owing to his apparent setlist overhaul on the weekend.
