Jury convicts three men of murdering XXXTentacion

After more than a week of consideration, a jury in Florida has reached a verdict regarding the murder of XXXTentacion (real name Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy), and convicted three men.

27-year-old Michael Boatwright, 26-year-old Dedrick Williams, and 24-year-old Trayvon Newsome have all been convicted on charges of first-degree murder and robbery with a firearm for the death of the rapper who was ambushed in 2018. Last year, Robert Allen was also charged in connection to the shooting and pled guilty to second-degree murder.

According to the authorities, the fatal incident happened when the rapper was in a car leaving Riva Motorsports, and his vehicle was blocked by an SUV. Two masked gunmen left the vehicle, and one began to shoot at Onfroy while the other stole a Louis Vuitton bag from the car which contained $50,000 inside of it.

The convicted trio had pled not guilty to the charges, and will now face life sentences in prison. They were testified against by Allen, who pled guilty in 2022. The jury started deliberating on the charges on March 8th, and have now reached a verdict on the case.

Last month, a Broward County judge ruled in Drake’s favour after a defence lawyer attempted to file a deposition against the rapper to get him to testify.
