Jay-Z set to “shake the world” with new music
Jay-Z is reportedly working on new music that will “shake the world.” Buzzing New York rapper Cash Cobain claimed Hov was planning to drop new material during a recent interview.
The Brooklyn rapper hasn’t released an album since 2017’s 4:44, but it looks like he could be returning with a new project in the not-so-distant future.
Speaking to Billboard, Cobain said, “I heard Jay-Z about to drop some shit that’s gonna shake the world. That’s what I heard. That’s gonna shake the world.”
This isn’t the first time someone has made comments about new music from Jay-Z in recent months. His longtime collaborator, Memphis Bleek, claimed he was in the studio.
“I just was with him in [Las] Vegas. He just came out on the show, like, yo, my n*gga, they went stupid,” he said in August, referencing Jay’s appearance on Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter Tour. “I said, ‘Listen, I know you working. Save me a verse.’ He’s like, ‘Alright, I got you.’ So if it happens, it happens.”
The Alchemist also made some interesting comments during his appearance on Drink Champs with Erykah Badu last month.
“Imagine some new Jay-Z shit right now, I’m just saying,” he said. When Bleek’s comments were brought up, he replied, “Bleek spilled the beans?” When asked if he was working on the alleged project, the producer said, “I have a line – you better throw that line. Imagine that.”
4:44 was released in June 2017. The Magna Carta Holy Grail follow-up debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 with 262,000 units in its first week, with features from his wife, Beyoncé, Frank Ocean, Damian Marley and his mother, Gloria Carter.
