Jay-Z demands emergency court hearing to address rape allegations

Following the recent underage rape allegation made against Jay-Z, the rapper has responded to Texas-based-attorney Tony Buzbee, who filed the motion in an attempt to secure an emergency court hearing.

Jay’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, recently filed a motion asking the court to remove the anonymity of the plaintiff, who is still known as “Jane Doe,” or dismiss the case. Shawn Carter’s name was only added to the lawsuit on December 8th after Tony Buzbee made an amendment. However, Alex Spiro believes that the gravity of the situation warrants an emergency hearing.

In a formal letter written to the judge, Spiro stated, “Due to the highly sensitive nature of this matter and the intense media scrutiny it has generated, we respectfully request to be heard on an expedited basis. For the avoidance of doubt, Mr. Carter is entirely innocent. This is a shakedown.”

Spiro alleged that before Buzbee recently added Carter’s name, there was no link between Combs and his client, expressing, “Jay-Z is not a suspect or even a person of interest in that case.”

The case, which alleges that Jay-Z and Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs both raped a 13-year-old girl in 2000, was filed by Tony Buzbee in October before being amended on December 8th. However, Alex Spiro and Jay-Z are suspicious of the attorney’s practices and have accused Buzbee of blackmail and extortion.

In a letter addressed to Judge Analisa Torres, Spiro expressed his concern about Buzbee, writing, “Adding to the urgency of this matter, Tony Buzbee has orchestrated a months-long press campaign aimed at inflaming public opinion and escalating the events in real-time on social media platforms.”

In order to protect Jay-Z and allow him some integrity, Spiro suggested a “fast-track hearing”, detailing, “Buzbee continues to amplify false narratives, exploiting the legal process to generate media attention and damage Mr. Carter’s reputation. This relentless campaign underscores the need for a fast-track hearing to address these issues promptly and prevent further harm.”

Buzbee has since put out a statement labelling Jay-Z’s description of the case as blackmail to be “bogus and laughable,” but Carter is not finding it funny and has stated that he does not intend to give the attorney “One red penny.”

Alex Spiro filed a motion on December 9th emphasising that the Brooklyn rapper has the right to a fair trial and emphasised that, so far, the process “is not consistent with justice, fairness, or the rules governing federal proceedings.”

At this stage, Spiro has not received a response regarding his legal request for an emergency court hearing.
