Jay-Z calls Beyoncé an "evolution" of Michael Jackson

Jay-Z has made the bold claim that Beyoncé is an “evolution” of Michael Jackson during a conversation with Alicia Keys.

The two artists who famously collaborated on ‘Empire State Of Mind’ spoke in a Twitter Space to promote her recent album, KEYS. “Bey’s gonna be mad at [me] for saying this, but Michael Jackson never had a Coachella,” he pointed out. Jay also went on to call Beyoncé “an evolution” of MJ and said he thinks this is “because she watched him at nine”.

“The kids are the same,” Jay continued. “Find me a concert that’s as culturally relevant and thrilling as Coachella. Beyoncé is gonna be one of the best singers we ever heard because she is such a student.”

Twitter user, TheTitanBaddie, agreed and said, “Beyonce is one of the greatest entertainers the industry has ever seen and will ever see. Nobody is operating at the same level as her creatively, as a vocalist, as a visual artist and as a live performer. Not her peers, not her predecessors and not anyone working right now.”

On the other hand, many disagreed with Jay for even mentioning Beyoncé in the same sentence of the untouchable, ‘King Of Pop’.

Elsewhere in the Twitter space, Jay revealed why he wouldn’t participate in a ‘Verzuz’ battle despite Rick Ross’ recent invitation to take him on.

“No disrespect. Everyone is amazing and [has] done what they’ve done. There’s not a chance in hell that anyone can stand on that stage with me. That ain’t never gonna happen.”
