Jack Harlow reveals his favourite new Drake album
Jack Harlow has revealed his favourite new Drake album from his triple release.
Drizzy released his three albums, Iceman, Maid of Honour, and Habibti, on May 15th, with all three albums expected to debut in the top three of the Billboard 200.
During a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Jack Harlow shared his thoughts on Drizzy’s latest releases.
When asked about the three albums in general, he said, “They’re a pleasure to listen to,” before revealing Iceman was his favourite.
“I enjoyed it,” he said. “I love when he raps. I love when he’s melodic too, don’t get me wrong, but I love the raps. I love when he addresses things. He’s a writer. I love writers.”
Harlow previously collaborated with Drake on ‘Churchill Downs,’ which appeared on his 2022 album Come Home the Kids Miss You.
Speaking on working with Drake, he said, “It was an amazing experience. Watching him work, not punching in … It’s just cool to see a rapper really be a rapper and not be some packaged thing that a team is putting together.”
He continued, “The minimalism of his approach. I know he’s been known to strip things off of beats, act as a producer in his own way. I relate to that. I like to take things away, I like to reduce down to the bare essentials and maybe build back up from there.”
Harlow went on to explain the specific things he likes about Drake’s songs and how he uses them in his own music.
“I think he does a great job of recognising what’s actually necessary,” he said. “A lot of his greatest songs are so spacious, him and a couple instruments. And I think people forget, just either out of habit or a need to compensate, that you don’t need that much, sometimes. It’s really in the essentials. That’s something I definitely learned from him.”
