J Cole praises Drake's new "phenomenal" album

While Drake’s new album, Honestly, Nevermind, has received some harsh criticism, J Cole has defended the “phenomenal” release.

Opinion has been split on his most recent record, which saw a change in direction for the Toronto rapper, who switched up his style by dropping a house album. While some have loved his move into unexpected territory, the overwhelming reaction on social media has been negative.

Honestly, Nevermind was a release nobody saw coming, and it was only announced on Instagram mere hours before its arrival on streaming platforms.

Drizzy has shied away from spitting bars on the experimental release, and one would expect an old-school hip-hop traditionalist like Cole to react negatively to the album. However, the truth couldn’t be any further from the truth.

He took to his Instagram story to write: “Man. This Album is phenomenal. Point blank.” Additionally, Cole also pointed towards his phone which was playing the album in a recent selfie with a fan.

Drake hasn’t taken the criticism of the album to heart and seemingly responded in a new video. He said: “It’s all good if you don’t get it yet. It’s all good. That’s what we do. That’s what we do, we wait for you to catch up.”
