J Cole fills in for 21 Savage alongside Drake in Montreal

Toronto rapper and singer Drake is currently on his ‘It’s All A Blur’ tour with 21 Savage. However, the Atlanta emcee (real name (Shéyaa Abraham-Joseph) recently failed to perform at their scheduled Montreal tour stop. Luckily for Drake, K.O.D. lyricist J Cole was able to take his place.

Drake’s ‘It’s All A Blur’ tour with 21 Savage aimed to promote their joint album, Her Loss, released last December, had gone off without a hitch until now. However, fans expecting Savage to perform all of the project’s tracks were disappointed when Drake welcomed Cole to the stage by way of apology.

Cole and Drake (real name Aubrey Graham) have collaborated previously and began their performance with the 2014 track, ‘No Role Modelz.’ Cole then proceeded to perform a solo show delivering a medley of his own tracks, including ‘Wet Dreamz’ and ‘Middle Child’.

Cole also paid respect to the absent Atlanta rapper by covering his track, ‘A Lot.’ Although 21 Savage was missed, fans began to enjoy the dynamic duo of Drake and Cole, and since their performance, videos of the memorable evening have started circulating online.

With a sea of phones in the air capturing the dynamism and excitement of the performance, one piece of footage shows Drake and Cole in action, while others showcase the enthralled crowd and incredible atmosphere the event generated.

The ‘It’s All A Blur’ tour commenced in Chicago early last month. The first show featured an unfathomable 48-track set, which included some exclusive unreleased songs and rare performances. The tour has made extensive use of visual effects such as lasers and even holograms.

The ‘It’s All A Blur’ tour is far from over, and the remainder of their stops includes huge dates in Brooklyn, New York, Washington, Philadelphia, and more.
