GoldLink responds to claims Mac Miller comments ruined his career
GoldLink has responded to claims that his post about Mac Miller ruined his career.
Following Mac’s death in 2018, the DMV rapper posted a distasteful tribute on social media, claiming that Mac copied him.
This week, the post has become a topic of discussion on social media once again, with some X users claiming it derailed GoldLink’s career.
Now, he’s responded to the chatter by releasing a freestyle over Busta Rhymes’ 1997 song ‘Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See’.
He posted the audio in response to a post that read, “Crazy how one IG post changed the trajectory of Goldlink’s career forever.” Throughout the track, GoldLink addresses his post about Mac and even drags Tyler, The Creator into the situation.
He raps, “This for you n*ggas that was all on my dick, tryna start some bullshit from Mac Miller and shit/ That’s my brother, and he did what he did, l’d probably ask Tyler how he feel bout that shit/ All I’m saying is that shit ain’t what you think that it is.”
In his initial post in 2019, GoldLink wrote, “I always thought you drove yourself insane about your own music. So much that, you would adopt styles as homage to those around you that you loved. That’s where our problem started. Divine Feminine was an actual blueprint of And After That, We Didn’t Talk.“
He continued, “Your single was called ‘Dang!’ Ft. Anderson Paak…you had Souelction support you on the Divine Feminine tour and when I tried to contact you, about anything at all…you never hit me.”
Anderson Paak responded by calling his post “disrespectful, narcissistic, jealous grossly unnecessary,” adding, “Why you would do it I can’t even understand.”
He went on to say, “You ain’t the first to make a song featuring Anderson .Paak but you are the first to disrespect my friend who is no longer here for absolutely no reason and I can’t stand for that.”
