GloRilla revealed her three best rap albums of all time

GloRilla is a fascinating artist who has played an integral part in the revival of Memphis hip-hop. The Tennessee native was highly renowned in her home state, but between 2019 and 2021 began to gain traction across the South.

Following the release of her mixtapes, Most Likely Up Next (2019) and P Status (2020), the lyricist (real name Gloria Woods) caught the eye of megastar Cardi B. Shortly after, they collaborated and last year released their track ‘Tomorrow 2’. which exploded.

Since the release of her track alongside Cardi, GloRilla has become one of the hottest new female artists, and in 2023, has the most leverage out of all the up-and-coming female rappers in the US. Akin to figures such as Ice Spice, Woods acquired a lot of her fans on TikTok following the release of her Hitkidd-produced song ‘F.N.F. (Let’s Go).’

Prior to her mainstream breakout, GloRilla was signed to Yo Gotti’s record label Collective Music Group (CMG), home of the controversial Moneybagg Yo. The pair collaborated earlier this year on the track ‘On Wat U On’, which didn’t perform well commercially. Nonetheless, the Moneybagg single didn’t hold back Woods, who has continued to grow in popularity despite the slew of criminal controversies facing Memphis rappers.

Woods performed at last year’s BET Awards and has made several live appearances, such as at Rolling Loud New York. The American Music Awards even acquired a prime-time performance at the 2023 London Wireless Festival. Last year Woods won BET’s ‘Best New Hip Hop Artist’ and was nominated for a Grammy.

In a recent appearance on the Stoked Youtube series ‘What Would You Do?’ GloRilla answered a number of questions and even revealed the three albums she can’t stop playing you can see her picks below.
