The Game assists firefighters during LA wildfires: “Preparing to do whatever I can”

The Game is showing first-hand support to firefighters in Los Angeles, assisting emergency response teams in putting out the wildfires and those affected by the damage. The Compton rapper, who is Los Angeles through and through, was on the ground over the weekend to help in any way possible.

“Me & my team have been down here with the brave men & women fire fighters on the grown day in & day out assisting anyway I can to make their days a little easier,” he wrote on Instagram. “The hearts & level of humility in each & every soul down here is a beautiful thing to witness & be a part of.”

According to the BBC on January 12th, the LA County medical examiner updated the death toll to 24, while another 16 people remain missing. 16 of the dead were found in the Eaton fire zone, while the other eight bodies were found in the Palisades area.

In his post, The Game continued, “These fighters are coming from all over the city, state & country to help put an end to what has been a long week of catastrophic events caused by these fires. They kept thanking me for being here… and in my mind I’m like, ‘No, THANK YOU !!!’ for doing the unimaginable in a time of pure terror & despair.

“My heart goes out to each & every person directly affected & those watching from all over the world who are mentally in pieces over what has happened in my city. I am here for Los Angeles & I will always be here to do my part.”

The New York Times reports that the number of people under evacuation orders has dropped from 100,000 to 92,000, according to Los Angeles County sheriff Robert Luna.

In another social media post, The Game shared photos of himself standing alongside firefighters. “Waking up these past few mornings & preparing to do whatever I can for my city & to help these guys has been the best part of my week,” he said.

He added, “Los Angeles is an amazing city & together we will restore the city one helping hand at a time. I can’t thank you guys enough for coming from all over the country to help our own firefighter’s & putting your lives on the line for us.”
