G-Eazy blasted online by singer Bebe Rexha

Oakland emcee G-Eazy hasn’t been present in the hip-hop culture for a very long time. The rapper first arrived in the mainstream around 2012, after having just completed a nationwide tour with the Vans Warped Tour, when he independently released his debut album, Must Be Nice.

As he continued to network around the Bay area of San Francisco, he built up enough of a buzz to become the go-to opening act for more prominent artists when they had performances in Oakland. Eazy got to open for the likes of Snoop Dogg and Lil Wayne. With exposure growing, when Eazy released his second album, These Things Happen, it topped the Billboard 200 albums chart.

However, he exited the mainstream pretty quickly, and hip-hop has not heard a lot of him since. That said, singer-songwriter Bebe Rexha has recently blasted him on social media.

The two were in a relationship from 2017 to 2018, with the pair taking the relationship public shortly after their 2017 song ‘Him & I’ was released. However, it ended in a pretty nasty way.

In an Instagram story, Rexha shared a screenshot of a message she recently received from a member of G-Eazy’s team asking if she would consider working with the rapper again. However, she was far from happy with the lyricist’s (real name Gerald Gillum) aloof approach.

Tagging the rapper, she wrote on Instagram, “You have my number. Why don’t you text me and ask me yourself, you stuck up ungrateful loser.” She viciously continued, “You’re lucky people are liking you again. Cause I could go in on all the sh*tty things you’ve done and how you treated me after giving you your only real hit. Btw the answer is no. Hope you good!”

Rexha wrote and provided vocals for G-Eazy’s track ‘Me, Myself & I’, which became G-Eazy’s first top 10 song. It was the lead single of his second album When It’s Dark Out, which was certified double-platinum by the RIAA.

As someone who boosted his career and received nothing but alleged abuse in return, to add insult to injury, Bexha took to Twitter/X to continue her rant by retweeting a picture of herself with her fellow singer Halsey, with the catty caption, “Bebe Rexha and Halsey talking about how they carried G-Eazy’s career.”
