Future throws his hat in the ring for Jay-Z 'Verzuz' battle

Future has volunteered to take on Jay-Z at a Verzuz battle after ‘Hov’ said he had no plans to step into the ring.

Since its incarnation in the first lockdown, the series has massively grown and has become an institution. KRS One and Big Daddy Kane recently headlined a ‘Verzuz’ event at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, which was also available to stream, and it’s only getting bigger.

During a recent Twitter space, Jay revealed that no opponent could tempt him into participating in a ‘Verzuz’ battle. He told listeners, “No disrespect. Everyone is amazing and [has] done what they’ve done. There’s not a chance in hell that anyone can stand on that stage with me. That ain’t never gonna happen.”

When Future heard these comments, he took himself straight to Instagram stories to call him out and said, “I Promise You, ErrBody From Atlanta Feels Like Pluto Can Win A Versus Against Hov!”

However, Future isn’t the only rapper that wants to take Jay-Z on, and Rick Ross recently also revealed his intentions to battle ‘Hova’.

JAY-Z… Yeah! Why not?” the rapper said during an appearance on The Real. “To me, that’s what makes ‘Verzuz’ special because it brings out the best in both parties.”

He continued, “That’s a possibility, but I gotta give my flowers to the big homie. I got to. My homie gave me my first opportunity signing me to Def Jam Records, and he’s one-of-one.”

Let’s see if Jay stays true to his word.
