Florida rapper Wam SpinThaBin shot and killed
Florida rapper Wam SpinThaBin has been shot and killed. The 25-year-old, previously signed to Kodak Black‘s Sniper Gang label, was murdered in his home state on August 28th.
The shooting took place in the 500 block of Northwest Sixth Avenue in Hallandale Beach. SpinThaBin (real name Brandon Wamley) suffered multiple gunshot wounds and passed away at a local hospital.
The Hallandale Beach Police Department responded to an alert from ShotSpotter, a system that detects, locates, and reports gunfire to law enforcement.
According to WPLG Local 10, a police investigation claims the incident wasn’t random, with the victim and suspected gunman allegedly knowing each other.
A local man said he hid in his bathroom after hearing gunshots, while another person said, “It is scary because you see police in the middle of the night. You’re wondering what’s going on.”
SpinThaBin had a criminal history in Broward County, with charges including cannabis possession, stalking, and writing a threat to kill.
The rapper is best known for his song ‘Like Mike’, which has almost five million Spotify streams. His track ‘Paying for Killings‘ has over three million YouTube views, with the sequel ‘Paying for Killings 2’ also racking up 1.5 million views.
He released his last album, Tear Drops and Closed Caskets, in April 2023 through Alamo Records/Sony Music Entertainment. Kodak featured on the song ‘Roger Dat’, with other appearances coming from WizDaWizard and WAWG Max.
Just last year, SpinThaBin celebrated being independent but announced he was stepping away from music and social media to focus on other things.
“Look where I started,” he wrote on Instagram. “Now I’m an independent artist with a record label. No longer n the matrix. Gonna be taking a break tho, I been using 10% of my brain since Wiz died lol. I don’t have the urge to be seen as u can tell. Gonna focus on family. I did what I set out to do musicly. I elevated, I’m on a different chapter. Love and peace, don’t forget to pray.”
