Flavor Flav defends Taylor Swift from Donald Trump attacks
Flavor Flav has expressed his love for Taylor Swift on X, defending her after Donald Trump lashed out at her recent support for Kamala Harris. The former president posted, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” on his Truth Social website.
Trump didn’t expressly state that it was Swift’s recent endorsement of his competitor that prompted the post, but it’s likely this was the deciding factor. Flavor Flav has made it clear that he doesn’t agree with Trump’s brutal comments about the singer, as he took to social media to post, “I LOVE TAYLOR SWIFT,!!”
Some people responded to his post saying that Flav was “Pandering” to the Taylor Swift fans, which the rapper also responded to. “You must be new here… allow me to reintroduce myself… they call me KING SWIFTIE.” Flav also retweeted other celebrities showing support for Swift, such as Mark Hamill.
The controversy was sparked when Taylor Swift posted her endorsement of Kamala Harris on social media. This came following the presidential debate, which Harris is believed to have won as Trump appeared flustered throughout.
“I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election,” wrote Taylor Swift, “I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them. I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos”
Swift continued, “I was so heartened and impressed by her selection of running mate @timwalz, who has been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades.”
Taylor Swift isn’t the only celebrity endorsement Kamala Harris has received. Beyoncé has also expressed her support for Harris, letting the presidential candidate use her track ‘Freedom’ as part of her campaign trail. The song is a politically charged number that is the perfect blend of empowering and emotive which fits Harris’s ongoing message throughout her presidential campaign.
Other artists who have pledged support for Harris include Ariana Grande, Olivia Rodrigo, Katy Perry, and Megan Thee Stallion. However, in the public polls, the presidential race appears to be neck and neck, and it is currently difficult to tell who will win the upcoming election. Whether another debate will happen in the future remains to be seen, despite Harris’s calls for one.
