Flavor Flav crowns Eminem as the "best rapper alive"

Public Enemy emcee Flavor Flav recently decided to visit Emniem’s Detroit pasta restaurant Mom’s Spaghetti to show his support for the rapper, and while he was there even went as far as to label the ‘Stan’ musician as the “Best Rapper Alive.”

In 2021, Eminem (real name Marshall Mathers) opened a restaurant in his hometown of Detroit. Called Mom’s Spaghetti, the name was inspired by Eminem’s lyrics. In the hit song ‘Lose Yourself’ Mathers raps, “His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy/ There’s vomit on his sweater already, mom’s spaghetti.” This is where the name came from.

The restaurant is open to this day and is one of many destinations that tourists go to when they’re in Detroit. Above the restaurant, there is a recreation of the trailer Eminem used to live in and a shop selling Eminem records and merchandise from across the years.

Last year, in celebration of 8 Mile’s 20th anniversary, the Relapse musician even opened a temporary pop-up store in the SoHo neighbourhood of Manhattan. However, its permanent location is in his hometown of Detroit.

Taking to Instagram while recently in the Michigan city, Flavor Flav posted a video, stating, “Ayo Eminem, Flavor Flav right here in yo spot eating some Mom’s Spaghetti while it’s still hot. An yo, let me tell you something, it’s some real good spaghetti, Eminem, I ain’t gonna lie, G, know what I’m sayin’.’ Y’know I had to come and support you, man, word up.”

He continued, “And thank you for shoutin’ me out in your records, man. You be shoutin’ Flavor Flav out in your records, man. I love you, man, y’know what I’m sayin.’ You the best rapper alive, bro, you need to know that, y’know what I’m sayin.'”

Flavor Flav is not the only former Public Enemy member who’s a fan of Mathers. In fact, during an appearance on the Drink Champs podcast hosted by Noreaga and DJ EFN, Chuck D once called the ‘My Name IS’ artist a “lyrical cyborg.”
