Check out the first trailer for Nipsey Hussle documentary series ‘Hussle’

The upcoming documentary series about the life and importance of the late Nipsey Hussle, entitled Hussle, has had its first trailer released. The docu-series is being produced by Maverick Carter and LeBron James under the name of their SpringHill production group, alongside Hussle’s own Marathon films.

The series’ synopsis claims that it will provide a “comprehensive and incredible story of Nipsey Hussle, from his days as a young boy growing up in Crenshaw to the musician and activist he became in the later years of his life.”

The documentary will primarily focus on the fantastic old-school footage of Hussle’s childhood growing up in the 1990s in Los Angeles as well as looking at his career, playing to sold-out audiences, earning his first Grammy nomination, helping his community and raising his children. Hussle touchingly says in the trailer: “Faith is a required element on your marathon to success, on your marathon of life.”

LeBron James noted, “It’s an incredible honour for SpringHill to have a part in sharing Nipsey’s story and legacy with the world. He used his gift to give back to his community and lived what it means to inspire, empower, and uplift others along the way. His words, his ambition, and his actions stick with me to this day as he continues to inspire myself, our company, and people everywhere.

Hussle was shot dead outside his apparel shop in Southern Los Angeles back in March 2019, leading to an onslaught of tributes to the legendary rapper, including the likes of Big Sean, Meek Mill and DJ Khaled, the last two of whom paid their respects at the 2020 Grammys ceremony. Back in July, Eric Holder Jr. was convicted of first-degree murder over the shooting of Hussle.

The docu-series does not have a release date as of yet, but we’ll keep you up to date as soon as further details emerge. Check out its first trailer below.
