Finesse2tymes arrested on gun and drug possession charges in Texas
Memphis rapper Finesse2tymes was reportedly arrested on gun and drug possession charges last week. The rapper (real name Ricky Hampton) was taken into custody on September 20th.
The 33-year-old was detained in Smith County, Texas, alongside his girlfriend and the mother of his child, FNG Shugga.
Complex reports that the pair were released on bail shortly after they were arrested. According to KETK, officers pulled over Finesse for not wearing a seatbelt while he was driving his red Corvette.
The report claims he was pulling into Claude Street in Tyler at the time. After stopping them, officers smelled marijuana and saw a hand-rolled cigar in the ashtray.
Shugga was spotted grabbing a bag from the floorboard, which contained 0.7 ounces of marijuana, 12 oxycodone pills, and seven methylphenidate pills.
Following his arrest, Finesse2tymes took to Instagram to share photos of himself and Shugga. In the caption, he wrote, “Went to jail, came home, went to jail again, came back again.”
In another post, he shared a video of his show at 220 Lounge and spoke about his constant legal troubles in the caption.
“People wonder why I talk about jail so much, it’s because when I’m performing that’s all I can remember, and rather I make it further or not compared to what I HAD I can’t lose,” he wrote. “I have learned to accept the things that I cannot change, the courage to change the things that I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”
Finesse released his latest project, Time Will Tell, on June 25th. One of his biggest songs, ‘Back End‘, has over 127 million streams on YouTube. Other big Spotify tracks include ‘Overdose’ and ‘Get Even’, which each have 19 million and 13 million streams.
