Eminem to release a new documentary on Stan culture

Eminem has announced that he will be producing a new documentary name Stans that will focus on the strange and intense culture that surrounds artists and their fandoms.

The term “Stan” was accidentally coined by the rapper following the release of his 2000 single, which tells the story of a fan who is unhealthily obsessed with Eminem. The track features the esteemed vocalist Dido.

According to the online entertainment magazine Variety, Stans will delve deep into the world of superfans and will be depicted through the lens of Eminem and how he found himself disarmed and confused by “the fans that worship him.”

Speaking about the upcoming documentary, Eminem’s long-time manager Paul Rosenberg explained, said of the documentary: “Stans will be the opportunity for us to turn the camera around and ask the audience about being fans and, in some cases, fanatics.”

He continued, “This is a study of the relationship between fanbase and artist through the lens of one of Eminem’s most fascinating songs and one of the world’s most important entertainers.”

The documentary will be released under Eminem’s personal film studio, Shady Films, and will be directed by Steven Leckart. An official release date hasn’t been announced, but it is thought that the documentary will be released sometime later this year.

In other Eminem news, the Detroit artist recently dissed the former Source magazine co-owner Benzino in a diss track named ‘Doomsday Pt 2’. The track reignites the ongoing feud that has lasted for over a decade.
