Eminem makes a surprise appearance at 50 Cent concert in Detroit

Legendary Queens rapper 50 Cent recently performed in Michigan for his ‘Final Lap Tour’ as he celebrates 20 years of his debut album, Get Rich Or Die Tryin’, and while in Eminem’s home state, the two hit the stage to perform some classics with Eminem even performing his 2009 hit ‘Crack A Bottle.’

Over 20 years ago, Eminem (real name Marshall Mathers) signed 50 Cent (real name Curtis Jackson) to his Shady Records, and the pair have been a dynamic duo ever since. Mathers appeared twice on Get Rich or Die Tryin’ and has been by the Queens rapper’s side throughout his journey.

Eminem emerged while wrapping up his performance at the Pine Knob Amphitheater in Clarkston, which shocked many fans who were unaware he would be performing.

Paying tribute to Jackson, Mathers exclaimed, “Don’t fucking act like you ain’t know I was gonna be here. Detroit, make some noise for one of the best friends I’ve ever known. 50 Cent. And also, make some noise for hip-hop’s 50th birthday, y’all.”

The magic trio of Dr Dre, Eminem and 50 Cent have been a potent force in hip-hop for two decades, and earlier this year, Jackson unveiled that Eminem had contacted him about getting in the studio with Dr Dre again to create some magic.

Speaking with Rolling Stone, the ‘In Da Club’ musician disclosed, “I started to find material that can get things going because I always like to find material I think is hot before I go to Dre and Em. [I like to figure out] what I would like the record to feel like, the body of it, and then I can find pieces that I need while I’m around them,”

He continued, “And then I go back and finish up and get the whole thing done. I need to make something that creatively is coming from me, so it has to have the pieces.” Although the trio are yet to hit the studio, Eminem and 50 Cent have reunited musically with their recent performance.
