Eminem has been nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Eminem has been nominated to feature in the 2022 class of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Slim Shady is nominated alongside A Tribe Called Quest, Kate Bush, Beck, Eurythmics, Duran Duran, Dolly Parton, Lionel Richie, Rage Against The Machine, Carly Simon, Judas Priest, Fela Kuti, New York Dolls, Dionne Warwick, MC5, DEVO and Pat Benatar.

Although 17 are currently nominated, only five will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The final five will be decided by more than 1,000 artists, industry members and historians who will reduce the shortlist for the final round of consideration.

Meanwhile, fans also have the chance to have their say by voting every day online or at the museum in Cleveland, Ohio. The five acts at the end of the process with the most votes will then be inducted later in the year.

Artists can be nominated on multiple occasions, and it can take several years to finally be accepted into music’s most exclusive club. The only criteria is your debut album was released at least 25 years prior, and 2022 is the first time that Eminem has been eligible.

The inductees will be revealed in May, and the event is due to take place in the Autumn with the location to be revealed at a later date.
