Eminem’s ex-wife Kim pleads no contest in hit-and-run crash

Kim Scott, the ex-wife of Eminem, has pleaded no contest following a hit-and-run crash earlier this year.

The 51-year-old hit a car and crashed into her garage with several children inside her vehicle, resulting in charges of operating while impaired and failing to report an accident.

According to The Sun, Kim appeared in a Michigan courtroom on May 11th and pleaded no contest to both of the charges. She will learn her sentencing in June.

The DUI incident reportedly took place at around 8pm on February 16th when Kim was taking her son and three others shopping.

During the outing, Kim allegedly hit a parked car and refused to stop. She reportedly continued driving and attempted to pull into her driveway, but crashed into the garage door.

One of her neighbours called the police after the incident occurred, with officers taking her to the hospital for injuries; she was discharged on February 17th.

At the time of the initial reports, Kim’s lawyer stated that she hadn’t been arrested. He claimed she would turn herself in if a warrant was issued, calling her “a good person, a beautiful human being.”

Kim told police officers that she drank two margaritas at Chili’s before the incident took place. Speaking to the police, she admitted to recently driving the vehicle while appearing to have “glossy eyes, slurred/slowed speech, and lethargic demeanour.”

An officer “observed a strong odour of alcoholic intoxicants emitting from her person/breath,” with a breathalyser test returning her BAC as 0.079 per cent.

In addition, officers also found an empty Crown Royal Apple whiskey bottle in her car, along with a root beer can filled with alcohol.
