Eminem and 50 Cent reunited courtside at the NBA playoffs this week.
The longtime friends and collaborators were spotted at Game 5 of the NBA Eastern Conference Semifinals on May 13th.
The Detroit Pistons beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 117-113 to take a 3-2 lead in the series.
Em’s appearance was fitting considering he’s from Detroit and a fan of the Pistons, with the game taking place at the Little Caesars Arena.
50 and Eminem most recently collaborated on ‘Gunz N Smoke‘ from Snoop Dogg’s 2024 album, Missionary, alongside Dr Dre.
Just last year, it was announced that Em was attempting to bring a WNBA team to Detroit alongside a group led by Tom Gores, the billionaire owner of the Pistons.
Slim Shady’s passion for Detroit is no secret, speaking in the past about having an underdog mentality and explaining how the city made him.
“You got to live it and you got to be there,” he said. “You have to just be part of it, man. Despite all the bad shit that you hear in the press and all that shit, I love my city and I feel like definitely Detroit – every aspect of my life – helped me, you know, it shaped me.
He continued, “Detroit especially, man, like the inspiration I get from it … I love the people. You know what I’m saying? So I don’t know, man, I kind of feel like, you know, coming from Detroit, we’re the underdogs and everyone looks down on our city. And I want to be there to say, ‘What the fuck?’ I love my city. and I take pride in it, so you know, definitely, it made me. It shaped me in every which way possible.”
