Drake's strange reaction to Rick Ross' 'Champagne Moments'

Drake’s beef with Kendrick Lamar, Metro Boomin, Future, and now Rick Ross has seen him at the centre of a hip-hop firestorm that, from the outside, seems to be escalating. However, during an episode of the Rory & Mal podcast, one of the hosts revealed how Drake really feels.

Rory Farrell and Jamil ‘Mal’ Clay, former friends of Joe Budden who co-hosted his show, recently sat down for a discussion on their own podcast and, during their chat, spoke about the recent Rick Ross diss track ‘Champagne Moments.’

Mal, who is a close friend of Drizzy, made a revelation about how he really feels about Ross’ diss track and, in a surprise twist, revealed that the Scorpion hitmaker is highly unbothered by the meaningless materialistic lyrics that make up a lot of ‘Champagne Moments’.

Detailing a recent phone call he had with Drake (real name Aubrey Graham), Mal explained, “I said, ‘Yo, how you feel about the Ross record?’ I’m really tryna gauge him. He was like, ‘He said he was richer than me, and I turned it off.'”

Rick Ross leaked ‘Champagne Moments’ over a weekend earlier this month following Drake’s passing reference about him on his Kendrick Lamar diss song, ‘Push Ups (Drop & Give Me Fifty)’. However, the track was no ‘Ether’ and made a few allegations that Graham had received cosmetic surgery.

During the track, the Miami emcee rapped, “You ain’t never want to be a n*gga anyway, n*gga / That’s why you had an operation to make your nose smaller than your father nose, n*gga.”

Ross also accused Drake of having ghostwriters. However, the allegation is one of the most used accusations in hip-hop and has appeared in almost all diss tracks in recent history. It has been levelled at Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, Pusha T, 50 Cent and a long list of other MCs.

Following the song’s leak, text messages from Drake to his mother surfaced online, which saw the Scorpion emcee write, “It’s coming from Rick Ross, the guy I did songs with, he’s gone loopy off the Mounjaro.” He also called Ross “angry” and “racist.”

So far it seems that all of Drake’s attention is centred on Kendrick Lamar and Metro Boomin’.
