Drake seemingly responds to Serena Williams cameo in Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl show

Drake has appeared to respond to his ex-girlfriend Serena Williams’ appearance on stage at Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime show. Following the performance, Drizzy was active on his Instagram burner account, @plottttwistttttt, sharing a photo of himself alongside the tennis star’s longtime agent, Jill Smoller.

The photo was taken at Wimbledon in 2015 when Drizzy was cheering on Williams, his partner at the time. Williams won the competition that year for a sixth time, beating Garbiñe Muguruza in the final. Drake also seemingly referenced Williams on stage in Australia with a message to fans about exes. It just so happens that Drizzy also dated SZA, who performed ‘All the Stars’ and ‘Luther’ at the Super Bowl.

“If you ever, in your life, gave your time, gave your energy, gave your money, gave your heart, gave your soul, gave everything that you ever had to somebody, and they fucking played with you and wasted your time, wasted your money, I want you to all to turn up to this song,” he told the audience.

He continued, “This for all y’all exes and everybody think they can play you in their fuckin’ life! If you doin’ better than your ex, I wanna see you fuckin’ turn up!”

Williams Crip-walked at the Super Bowl on February 9th as Kendrick performed his popular Drake diss track, ‘Not Like Us’. Following the performance, Williams explained how her cameo appearance came about.

“When @kendricklamar and team called and was like, ‘We’ve been trying to do something forever, what about this? We loved your Crip walk at the Olympics after you won the gold medal,’” she wrote on social media. “I’m like, ‘Super Bowl? Are you serious? When in the world would I ever be able to dance at a Super Bowl? Let’s do it!’ I knew my winning dance after the @olympics would pay off one day. End of story.”

Her comments reference the London Olympics in 2012, where she received backlash for doing the same dance due to it being gang-related. “Let’s go Super Bowl halftime??! I died a little!” Williams said on Instagram after getting off stage, adding, “Man, I did not Crip walk like that at Wimbledon. Oooh, I would’ve been fined! It was all love.”
