Drake releases braggadocios new video ‘Jumbotron Shit Poppin’’

Drake’s braggadocios new video has been met with mixed responses as the rapper flaunts all of his riches with the Ferrari-chocked visuals for his latest single ‘Jumbotron Shit Poppin’’ from his album Her Loss with 21 Savage.

For the video, Drake teamed up with fellow Canadian Tristan C-M. The filmmaker and photographer got to work capturing the excessive opulence of the rapper’s lifestyle as he is seen carted around in a slew of sports vehicles, limousines and pretty much everything else denoting wealth.

The video begins with the caption, “this is 72 hours for us,” implying that the footage simply captures the average couple of days for Drake during which he is seen greeting Mike Tyson and Lil Baby.

Drake previously worked with Tristan C-M on the video for ‘Sticky’ and the pair have developed a solid working relationship. However, the reaction this time out has been split with some people on social media crediting its coolness, while others have questioned whether it is simply aggrandising money and possessions.

Needless to say, it is, at least, a return to a more basic form of music publicity after Drake and 21 Savage landed themselves in hot water for hoaxing a fake Vogue magazine campaign which they were subsequently sued for.

The album itself, Her Loss, was released last year to relatively lukewarm reviews. Whether Drake and 21 Savage will continue to collaborate remains to be seen.
