Drake spits on new Smiley song 'Over the Top'

Drake has jumped on fellow Toronto rapper Smiley’s new track, ‘Over The Top’.

The new song arrives as fans agonisingly wait to hear Drake’s long-awaited new album, Certified Lover Boy. The new project will be Drizzy’s first LP since 2018’s Scorpion, which is a long time in Drake years, and the clock is still ticking. The lead single ‘Laugh Now Cry Later’ was released last summer, but the album is still yet to arrive.

The scheduled release date was January this year; however, a knee operation would postpone it. In a recent interview with battle rap league URLTV at their NOMEXI event, Drake confirmed the album is due before the end of summer. “Oh yeah, I’ll be there. My album will be out by then,” he said.

We are now running towards the end of July, and there are still no signs of the album being released. Thankfully, we do have his verse on ‘Over The Top’ to enjoy for now, and Drizzy brings the fire.

On his verse, Drake raps: “I can’t be pale in my casket, make sure I die with a tan, it’s part of the brand, I know that I came with a slide from left to right but now I don’t wanna dance, cannot depend on a man, I slide her some bread in a jam, that’s just who I am”.

Who knows when Certified Lover Boy will arrive, but let’s just enjoy ‘Over The Top’ for now.
