Drake loses astonishing amount of money on Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk fight

There are few certainties in life, but in addition to death and taxes, Drake losing money on sporting events remains a constant.

The latest loss for Drake comes after he previously bet a six-figure sum on Francis Ngannou to defeat Anthony Joshua earlier this year, which proved to be an incorrect prediction. Furthermore, he also lost $700,000 after Dricus Du Plessis was victorious against Sean Strickland at UFC 297.

Having previously bet against Strickland, he lost $550,000 when Israel Adesanya lost to the UFC fighter. However, he’s occasionally won his bets too, such as when he backed $890,000 on Logan Paul to beat Dillon Danis when the two squared up at Manchester’s AO Arena last year.

Furthermore, at the Fifa World Cup Final in 2022, Drake put $1 million on the line in favour of Argentina against France, which worried many of their fans. Nevertheless, not even the curse of Drizzy could stop Lionel Messi from producing an inevitable dosage of wizardry.

However, over the weekend, Drake backed the wrong fighter when he put $500,000 on Tyson Fury to beat Oleksandr Usyk in Saudi Arabia, and the curse of Champagne Papi struck once more.

Despite the gambling loss, when it comes to money, Drake has nothing to worry about and $500,000 is merely a drop in the ocean for him. Recently, the rapper put his Beverly Hills mansion up for sale and the 25,000-square-foot home is currently on the market for $88million.

The listing describing the property states: “The main house features seven bedrooms, 13 bathrooms, formal living and dining rooms, gourmet kitchen with breakfast room, library, and two family rooms – one of which doubles as a professional screening room.”

It continues: “The latest and greatest amenities including a garage for 11 cars, an elevator, wine cellar, gym, and game room. A pool/guest house with a mosaic-tiled pool and indoor/outdoor kitchen, as well as a hidden tennis court and orchard, complete this estate.”

In total, it is estimated Drake has a net worth of $250million, and he currently makes around $30million on an annual basis, largely through touring and sales. Therefore, for as long as he continues generating a seismic income, the Canadian will not be worried about occasionally losing more money on bets than most of us earn in a lifetime.
