Drake’s ‘Iceman’ tops Billboard 200 chart for third week in a row
Drake has scored a number one album for the third consecutive week.
In its third week, Iceman moved 171,000 units, consisting of 170,000 SEA units (equaling 174.42 million on-demand song streams) and 1,000 album sales.
Iceman was released on May 15th alongside two other Drake albums: Maid of Honour and Habibti.
It’s one of five albums to spend at least three weeks in the top spot, and his first with three weeks since Certified Lover Boy spent five weeks on top in 2021.
His longest streak at number one was with his fourth studio album, Views, which spent 13 weeks at the top in 2016.
Iceman, with features from Future, 21 Savage, and Molly Santana, initially debuted at number one with 463,000 units, consisting of 449,000 SEA units, 13,000 album sales, and 1,000 TEA units. In its second week, the album moved 225,000 units.
The project includes the hit single ‘Janice STFU’, which reached number one on the Hot 100 chart.
Despite its success, Rick Ross has been highly critical of Iceman following its release. “I listened to some of it,” he said. “It was horrendous. My homies actually sat there – they lost an hour of their life for this shit.”
He continued, “When you been waiting, after you see people put ice blocks in the middle of places, and promoted and marketed, and the world knew what day it was coming out. And then shit came out, and really, you know, folded.”
Outside of Iceman, Habibti debuted at number two with 114,000 units, comprising 108,000 SEA units and 6,000 pure album sales. Then, Maid of Honour came in at number three, totalling 110,000 units. The number consisted of 104,000 SEA units and 6,000 album sales.
