The war of words between the two rap greats, Drake and Kendrick Lamar, has continued to escalate. This time, Drake has addressed the feud with his latest track, ‘The Heart Part 6’.
The Canadian artist accompanied the song with an Instagram message that explained its title, stating: “And we know you’re dropping 6 mins after so instead of posting my address you have a lot to address.”
“The one’s that you’re getting your stories from, they’re all clowns,” Drake raps in the new single. “We plotted for a week and then we fed you the information / A daughter that’s 11 years old, I bet he takes it.”
This line comes in response to Lamar singing about Drake’s parents, son, a secret daughter, entourage, label affiliates, and those who he associates with. However, as Drake’s line claims, much of this is based on false information that Drake himself covertly fed Lamar to see if he would use it in a rhyme.
Nevertheless, this didn’t stop Lamar playing his ace card whereby he alleged: “I never been with no one under age.” Such lines have showcased how the rap battle is taking on a more bitter height than any typical feud, and it has many fans gripped.
The first fractions in the so-called ‘Rap Civil War‘ began way back in 2013 when Lamar laid down a verse in the Big Sean song ‘Control’ where he said he was going to “murder” his competition, but stressed that he meant it purely in an artistic sense.
Since then, Drake has accused Lamar of being a domestic abuser in the March 2023 track, ‘Family Matters’. While Lamar responded to this by alleging that Drake was a sexual predator in the song, ‘Meet the Grahams’.
