Drake reveals that ‘Certified Lover Boy’ is arriving this summer

Drake has revealed that his highly anticipated new album, Certified Lover Boy, is arriving this summer.

Drizzy hasn’t released an album since 2018’s Scorpion, which is a long time in Drake years, but the wait is about to be over at long last. The Toronto rapper has already revealed that his new album will be called Certified Lover Boy, and the lead single ‘Laugh Now Cry Later’, was released last summer.

The scheduled release date was January this year, but the record was postponed after he suffered an operation last year on his knee. In a new interview with battle rap league URLTV at their NOMEXI event, Drake confirmed the album is due before the end of summer.

After the hip-hop megastar teased in March that the record is “in the pot and coming soon”, Drake has teased fans are a matter of months away from hearing the hotly-awaited LP.

When they asked him whether it would be out before the end of the summer, Drizzy replied: “Oh yeah, I’ll be there. My album will be out by then.”

At the start of the year, Drake shared a statement that announced CLB had been delayed until 2021. He said: “I was planning to release my album this month but between surgery and rehab my energy has been dedicated to recovery.”

Adding: “I’m blessed to be back on my feet feeling great and focused on the album, but CLB won’t be dropping in January. I’m looking forward to sharing it with you all in 2021.”

Now, the wait appears to be almost over, and the new album from Billboard’s ‘Artist of the Decade’ is almost here.
