Drake cancels Young Money reunion after contracting Covid

Drake has revealed his Young Money reunion show at October World Weekend has been cancelled after he contracted Covid.

The Canadian rapper took to his Instagram Stories to reveal the frustrating news and said, “the Young Money Reunion show is being rescheduled to the SOONEST date possible.” He continued: “I love you all and I am so sorry for letting you down on our weekend together and the moment I test negative I will give you everything I got on stage (except the Covid).”

Drizzy was due to headline the final night of the Toronto festival alongside Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj for a special reunion before Covid thwarted his plans. Artists who have performed at the event so far include Lil Baby, Chris Brown and Nelly Furtado. Drake made a cameo during Furtado’s set for ‘I’m Like A Bird’.

The festival was organised to commemorate the tenth anniversary of Drake’s OVO Fest ahead of his ambitious plans to tour it globally across 2023. The Canadian has reassured Toronto locals and said: “I will keep the city posted and share the new date whenever we have it locked in.”

Last week, the rapper responded after he found himself at the centre of controversy after he received widespread criticism from environmentalists over a 14-minute flight he was alleged to have taken on his $200 million ‘Air Drake’ private plane. However, he claimed this flight never took place.
