Drake asks SZA for a joint performance in Toronto

New Jersey singer SZA recently cancelled her scheduled show in Toronto after an admission that she had lost her voice and wasn’t well enough to sing on the day. However, Drake took to social media to ask the singer if he could join her onstage for the rescheduled concert.

Posting a video online, SZA (real name Solána Rowe) told supporters her voice was “shot” due to her wild performance in New Jersey. Letting her followers know she was ill, Rowe declared, “I wanted to let you know got sick after jersey, and I’m here in Toronto taking a z pack n hella steroids.”

Speaking to fans from the Scotiabank Arena, Rowe stated, “I’m here at the arena. I just tried to do a sound check. I sound terrible!” She told her followers how she only wants to give fans her all and not disappoint them with a poor show.

She continued, “My body is semi-able, but my voice is shot. I’m trying my best to make it tonight!!! I really need your support. I don’t wanna cancel.” SZA fans in Toronto were desperate for the vocalist not to abandon them. However, despite the pleas, Rowe ended up cancelling the show. However, she promised them she would return to the city sometime soon.

However, after the cancellation, Toronto native Drake asked SZA if he could join her when she returned to his hometown so they could perform together, writing, “We gon do that sh*t together when you come back lemme open for you.”

This request may have been a consolation for the Toronto fans. However, a Drake appearance would be undeniably popular with fans as the city’s biggest musical export. Moreover, a confirmed Drake performance would give the fans something to look forward to.

Drake and SZA recently released their joint single ‘Slime You Out’, which caused quite a stir, causing the Toronto rapper to come under fire from Halle Berry for its artwork and Charlamagne Tha God, who considered the song too soft.
