Dr. Dre forgives Nicole Young for “embezzling” money from recording studio

Dr. Dre has revealed he has forgiven his ex-wife Nicole Young for “embezzling” funds from his Record One studio.

The two have been going through a messy prolonged divorce settlement, and as part of the procedure, Dre has agreed to “forgive” Young for moving the funds. She allegedly provided herself with over $350,000 from the business account during the early stages of their separation, and at the time, Young had the full legal rights to do so.

Dre then removed her from the business and said she moved the money “for her own, personal obligations.” Additionally, Young has been rewarded with considerably less from the settlement than she envisaged.

The producer will keep hold of his fleet of luxury Californian mansions with Nicole ordered to leave her residence before the end of the month. On top of that, he will also keep his six cars and also all of his stocks.

Young will reportedly receive $50m (£37m) now and another $50m instalment in one year. Dre is estimated to be worth $620m, and Rolling Stone note that he is “delighted” that she will only get one-fifth of his assets.
