Donald Glover shares new single ‘Lithonia’

Actor, rapper, and singer Donald Glover has announced the release date for his “final” album, Bando Stone & The New World. To accompany the announcement, the lead single, ‘Lithonia,’ has been released for fans to enjoy.

Glover has given his followers a heads-up that Bando Stone & The New World will be the last album he plans on releasing under the moniker Childish Gambino, which has been his stage name since he burst onto the scene in the early 2010s.

The upcoming project will also double as the soundtrack of a short film that he plans to release to accompany the album. However, no official release date has been given to fans concerning the short movie. According to Glover, the album will hit streaming platforms on July 19th.

Earlier this year, Glover released the project Atavista. The album was not new but an extended and updated version of his record, 3.15.20. The project boasts revised and updated songs from the original as well as several new tracks, such as ‘Little Foot Big Foot’.

‘Little Big Foot’ was released alongside an enthralling music video. Directed by the legendary Hiro Murai, it saw appearances from the likes of Quinta Brunson, Monyett Cr mp, Rob Bynes, and others.

Glover announced this upcoming album earlier this year. Taking to social media, he wrote, “The all-new Childish Gambino album comes out in the summer. ” He also announced that Bando Stone & The New World will get a special vinyl release. In addition to the vinyl, he promised to share “visuals for each song.”

Glover has remained one of the biggest names in the hip-hop world, and over the last decade, he’s proved himself to be an entertainer of the highest calibre. While he’s equally as comfortable on a movie set and a recording studio, it is clear he is pivoting away from the latter with Bando Stone & The New World.

In other news, Childish Gambino recently confirmed the dates and venues for his ‘New World’ tour, which will see him perform in the UK, Europe and Australia later this year and into 2025.
