Doja Cat releases her brand-new single 'Attention'

‘Say So’ artist Doja Cat has released a fresh single for fans ahead of her upcoming album release. Earlier this year, the LA vocalist confirmed to Variety magazine that 2023 would be the year of her new project, and fans are ecstatic.

The singer (real name Amala Dlamini) put out her last boy of work Planet Her in 2021 and has been slowly but surely releasing singles as she plans her 2023 album rollout. The vocalist’s latest single, ‘Attention’, has already accrued millions of views and streams on YouTube and is making waves.

Produced by Y2K and Rogét Chahayed, this latest track by Doja has also been released with visuals. Directed by Tanu Muino, the ‘Attention’ music video sees Dlamini walk down the street indifferent to the copious amounts of people walking by, some of whom are staring at the LA native.

As she walks, Dlamini raps, “I paid all my respect to those who taught me how to make it / And now I reap the benefits with no confrontation / Y’all fall into beef, but that’s another conversation.” The vocalist also brings up Nicki Minaj, rapping, “Why she think she Nicki M? She think she hot shit.”

Many fans have speculated she is dissing Cardi B in this track, but for the most part, it is all hearsay. Since the release of Planet Her, Doja Cat has released her single ‘Vegas’, which appeared on the Elvis soundtrack and featured on SZA’s ‘Kill Bill’ remix.

With regard to this upcoming album, earlier this year, the singer took to Twitter writing, “6.16.23” alongside an upside down ‘A’ smeared in blood. The versatile singer has declared that her upcoming third body of work will be “rap only.”

She also promised fans that, for now, she will be making “no more pop”. You can hear Doja Cat’s latest single with its accompanying music video below.
