Doja Cat forced to cancel Primavera Sound set at the last minute
Doja Cat was set to perform at Primavera Sound this week but was forced to cancel her set at the last minute.
The Los Angeles rapper was scheduled as a headliner on June 4th as part of the 2026 festival in Barcelona.
However, Doja took to X (formerly Twitter) that night to reveal that it wasn’t safe for her set to go ahead due to bad weather.
“Barcelona I am fully dressed and ready to go to stage but it’s just not safe enough to continue the show tonight,” she wrote on X. “I’m so sorry that this is how this shit has to be right now. I will think of everything I can under the sun to make it up to you. Please stay safe and warm I will see you again I promise.”
She added, “Unfortunately it is cancelled due to weather. I mean what I said in the post prior. Giant hugs tears and kisses to you all tonight.”
Primavera Sound confirmed that “adverse weather and technical conditions” caused the cancellation.
“Unfortunately, adverse weather and technical conditions have made it impossible for performance by Massive Attack, Doja Cat and Bad Gyal on the Estrella Damm and Revolut stages to take place due to safety reasons,” they wrote on Instagram. “We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding. The shows on other stages are currently proceeding as scheduled.”
Doja later took to Instagram Live, stating how disappointed she was about the show being cancelled.
“The weather was not gonna get any better,” she said. “I didn’t know that. I don’t think anybody really, truly knew how bad it was gonna get, but it got bad. And it got bad on the wrong day.”
She continued, “I really wanted to see you guys tonight and I love you so much. I do,” she said. “Regardless of whatever you fuck…whatever the fuck has happened. But I do love you. I’m absolutely crushed, and torn to pieces about the whole thing.”
